Old claims, worked before the clock runs out.
Aged AR recovery is working unpaid claims older than 60 days: checking status with the payer, fixing what's holding them, appealing denials and escalating stuck claims, before timely filing or appeal deadlines expire. We work it as a dedicated team alongside your staff.
Oldest and largest first.
Aged AR is a race against deadlines, so we sort by value and time left.
Sort the buckets
Rank 60/90/120+ day claims by balance and remaining timely filing or appeal window.
Find the blocker
Payer status calls and portal checks: missing info, coordination of benefits, credentialing, authorization or a silent denial.
Resolve
Corrected claims, appeals, records submissions and escalation to provider relations when claims stall.

60+ day AR recovery: common questions
How old is too old?
It depends on the payer's timely filing and appeal limits. Medicare's filing limit is 12 months from the date of service; many commercial plans allow 90 to 180 days. We check each claim's remaining window first.
Do you only take the hard claims?
Aged AR is mostly hard claims. We work the full 60+ day list, prioritized by value and deadline.
Will you contact our patients?
Only if you want us to handle patient statements; aged AR work is mainly with payers.
